The audio release of Dammu sounded the bugle. The confidence on the faces of everyone from NTR down said it all. We are in for a mass hit, something better than Simha. Apart from the speeches, it was MM Keeravani's tunes (especially the 'Ruler' song) that set the mood for a celebration. The function was attended by K Raghavendra Rao, Srinu Vytla and SS Rajamouli. Besides, all those associated with the film, NTR, Trisha, Karthika, Ali, Kota, Boyapati and Vallabha also made it. Lakshmi Pranathi, NTR's wife, made her first public appearance after marriage. The audio was released by Mr. & Mrs. Keeravani and the first copy of the CD was received by Lakshmi.
NTR said that Srinu had been wanting to do a film with him since the past 8 years. "He narrated to me the script of Badra and though I liked the film, I could not do it. After watching the film, I thought I should have done it. After I watched Simha, I exclaimed, 'Is it possible to make a film in this way also?' It takes dammu (guts) to impress the audience," the Young Tiger said suggesting that the film lives up to the title.
SS Rajamouli scouted for Boyapati's talent for making mass films. "Till some years ago, Vinayak and I were doing mass films. Now if he is making comedies (Krishna, Adhurs), I am making films like Eega (and Maryada Ramanna). When there was a dearth for mass movie directors, in came Boyapati. When 'peddanna' Keeravani played the 'Ruler' track, I thought it would have been great if I had it in my film." He also said that if ever he makes a film with NTR, that would be of great help to his (NTR's) career.
Vytla said, "NTR and I started our careers with Usha Kiron Movies at the same time. He is becoming bigger with every film. I hope that Boyapati is going to give me a big target to surpass it with Badshah."
The director said that he had done everything that would reach the expectations of NTR's fans.
The audio was released on Vel Records.
